History of Shoes
While you casually wear footwear to a place, a thing that has become a constant part of our everyday’s life, have you ever thought how it all started? How did shoes come into being and how did this item evolved to reach where it is today? Obviously you haven’t.
Let us dig history and find out. From archaeological evidence, experts hypothesize that shoes were invented roughly 40,000 years ago. The earliest shoes were made from wraparound leather. Until 1800’s, there were minute differences between men’s and women’s footwear which began to appear in the early 1800’s. Up until 1850, shoes were made straight i.e. there wasn’t any difference between left and right shoes. The twentieth century showed the greatest development in shoes. With modern machinery and methods, a number of styles, colors, materials, designs, for both men and women appeared. Shoemaking became a healthy business and a number of brands popped up.
